Brazilian Walnut, also called Ipe, has a wide array of tones ranging from a soft yellow tan with subtle green hues, all the way to a blackish brown. Combine that with the smooth grain lines in the boards help give an elegant look for any home. Brazilian Walnut is also known to be one of the most durable woods in the world because of it's extremely dense features. Because of this extra density, it is common to see imperfect cuts in the boards that can add potential gaps between boards when laid next to one another. Having an experienced floor installer for this exotic species is important in order to know how to work with these imperfections and to also have a proper waste percentage known before ordering.
